There is something about decorating that makes me extremely happy. I don't know if it's putting together things to make a complete room or if it's just boredom, but I have found a love for decorating.
Recently, I've been working on my bedroom. I painted it a ridiculous teal color that I absolutely love (although will probably have to repaint before I try to sell the place). I don't have a headboard or anything above my bed (yet!) but have some pretty neat ideas as to what I want to put there. I also decided that I needed a little bit more on the walls than color, so I found these neat wall stickers that can be peeled and re-stuck anywhere on the wall.
(Picture color is a little distorted because my old camera couldn't pick up the white color without flashing and reflecting the light off the sticker. Boo.)
In other news, two weeks ago my friend Chance took me and a few others to the gun range to shoot. Me, being the liberal northwesterner you all know and love, had never touched a loaded gun before. There are more pictures on Facebook, but here are a few that make me giggle.
Ralph, Liz's dad (she's the one who was bucked off a horse) is teaching me how to shoot. It's an old-school revolver (notice his cowboy holster!) used in Cowboy Action Shooting. Kid you not.

Here is a great capture (photo credit to BJ, my favorite physicist) after fiishing my first round with the revolver. Clearly I'm excited about it!

What is the name of your wall color? I have samples of various teals on my kitchen wall - along with gray, taupe gray, green.
I haven't been shooting in almost 40 years, but it was scarily fun. No ARs, though.
Embellished Blue from Behr. You can google search it but it's definitely way brighter than anything I've found online. I love it, though; it cheers up my day every time I see it!
That's awesome I was just talking with a friend of mine about how I've never shot a gun but yet why would I have. Maybe some day!
We finally decided to go with Benj. Moore's Bermuda Teal. It's pretty bright, too. Anna & Liz told me to "be bold" and we looked at Caribbean colors when we were at the travel agency (planning our Europe trip!), since our living room is blue & dining room orange/melon. As Katie says, we can always repaint.
...actually those placemats would go well w/my dining room and new kitchen ....
