Proctored an exam

HJ asked Dr. Roger E Kirk to autograph her books. I am already the proud owner of a Kirk signature, but it's still adorable.

HJ gave me a piece of gum and I made her a crane out of the gum wrapper. She named him Tukey after our favorite statistician and was going to walk around with him on her shoulder all day until I accidentally sat on him. Whoops.

Later that afternoon, Max came to Waco as a last hurrah before he is discharged from the Army (woot!) and leaves for an Australia/Cambodia/other random countries trip.

We went to the Dancing Bear and sat outside with a beer on a gorgeous day.

Then we got dinner at Clay Pot. Best Vietnamese food ever, plus the owner called me a regular (Nick would be so proud!) and gave me a large bowl for the small bowl price. Win!

This is my new friend, Thien, the owner's son. He came over to our table and introduced himself and then hilariously entertained us for a good 10 minutes.

To end the evening, Max came over and we played Mario Kart. The first four races, I kicked his butt...

But he overcame his loss and killed me the next four races. Vindicated.
