Another Blogger Award!?!

Sarah over at Sunlight After Rain has graciously (and wonderfully!) passed on another blogger award to me! I'm pretty sure she's my biggest blogger fan (mom and Aunt Heide don't count), which is pretty awesome 'cuz we've never actually met IRL.

The internet rocks.

I'm pretty sure versatile is another word for random.

["All those who are products of statistical randomness, raise your hand!" -Dr. Jim Patton]

As per rules of the award, you're supposed to tell some facts about yourself. I tried to come up with some random versatile facts about me, so enjoy:

{uno}
I recently found my high school Spanish teacher on Facebook because a song came on the radio that reminded me of him. He had us learn Barenaked Ladies' "If I Had a Million Dollars" in Spanish and sing it in class. We also once made mini-movies as a final project. Reid, Jeff, and I did a version Shrek with Reid as Shrek, me as Princess Fiona, and Jeff as the king of Duloc (what was his name?). It rocked, and I wish I had a copy of it. I'm pretty sure I did at one point...

{dos}
I hated the idea of Twitter until my good friend Jordan signed me up for one out of the goodness of his heart. He recently reminded me of this, and I am very grateful for the love he sent my way. 'Cuz Twitter's fun. (Total sidenote, welcome to Twitter, mom!)

{tres}
My brother is currently playing in a tournament at the World Series of Poker. He's kind of a badass, in more ways than one. Here's some websites with info from small bid tournaments in years' past, but I can't find any 2011 stuff. Still, super cool.

{cuatro}
My favorite part about living in Texas is the cowboy boots Nick got me. Hands down. Oh, and spending time at the Future Doctor Martindale's pool.

{cinco}
I'm totally proud of my awesome yearly Christmas letters that I send to my family and friends. 2008 was a menu, 2009 was a multiple-choice quiz, and 2010 was a psych eval. I'm currently accepting witty ideas for a 2011 letter. (My good friend Shayla's boyfriend was baffled that somebody would send a Christmas letter about themselves. Maybe this year, I'll send a letter with updates on all my friends, then plug my blog if family or friends want to know about me.)

And that's me, versatile Sar. In accordance with blog award tradition, I'm passing this award along to the following two people for the following reasons:

Jordan at Trailer Gypsy writes about tattoos, PTSD, tips about jewelry, and everything in between. She also has a plethora of amazing recipes, and is living in Oregon/Idaho so she rocks.

E at Evergreen Eden is my newest favorite blogger, writing about life and her dreamy "man dime" husband, all while including beautiful poetry and creative writing prompts. She's all over the place, in a great way!

(I should have included Dwija from House Unseen in this list because she is the most hilarious blogger alive even while talking about dog poop or kidnapping a pig. She's received this award before and probably will continue to receive it from all her readers, but she still deserves a shout-out 'cuz she's wonderful.)

I hope you're able to do a little blog hopping over to Jordan's, E's, and Dwija's blogs because they're all wonderful people and fun bloggers! Thanks for the award, Sarah!

Thank you so much, you are so sweet!! I was at the casino in my hometown one night for a bachelorette party and I ran into my high school spanish teacher who was there attending a bachelor party. I asked him about his facebook page, he has no idea who started it but there is a fan page for him, and he has hundreds of fans who post quotes from their time in his class. It's hilarious. One of my blog friends gave me this same award once and here is the post of my 7 random things if you care to read it: http://www.trailergypsy.net/2011/03/award.html

Thank you for the award, it makes me feel great to know that other people like reading my blog. <3

And you're right, Dweej is HILARIOUS. Love her!

Sarah! Have I ever told you that you are an angel? Thank you so much for the award!!! I am so grateful to have such an awesome new fogger (friend who is a blogger) like you! :) (I know, "fogger" is not the best name, but I thought for, like, hours and that was the best I could come up with.)

So (1) Your math teacher = awesome.
(2) No way! I hated Twitter too, but just signed up two days ago and I'm trying to warm up to it. Maybe you could give me a pointer or two?
(3) Tell your brother good luck! That is seriously impressive.
(4) Cowboy boots rock, and who is the Future Doctor Martindale? Am I totally sheltered? Or is it something I should know but forgot reading about? :)
(5) You are absolutely amazing. I can't decide which one is my favorite, although probably I'd have to go with your psych eval since that's my chosen field. SO excellent!!!! I really love your creativity. You can always add me to your mailing list, too? Yes?

Jordan and Dweej are totally deserving of this award, as well. I just recently started reading Jordan (she's adorable) and I seriously can't live without my daily Dwija fix. Thank you again, Sar, you are such a wonderful fogger! :D

Saraaaaaaaaaah! You are the sweetest! I'm so glad I found you.

There's not much that's funnerer than a Texas girl :)

@Lou OH YEAH! Lord Farquad. +200 cool points for you.

@E, "Fogger" sounds like an awesome name. Twitter gets better once you start following people you think are funny. I love "Lord_Voldemort7," 'cuz it's half Harry Potter jokes and half "the-world-sucks-and-here's-why" jokes. (A recent one I loved: "Today's the Chosen One's birthday. No, not Harry Potter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.") In regards to my bro, he's kickin' butt (probably 'cuz you wished him good luck!) and I'll post an update on his progress ASAP. Heck yes on the mailing list, and the Future Doctor is a girlfriend of mine. I'll have to tell the story about her nickname soon!

@Dwija, I think the general consensus is you're the greatest ever.

Another Dwija fan here! I like your taste in blogs ;)

I signed up for twitter awhile ago, but I don't really get it. It feels like another version of facebook to me, and I started blogging b/c I wanted to write longer "status updates" and have more substantial conversations with others. I'm curious what the appeal is?

Those cowgirl boots are lovely!! I was so into that kind of things in the past... I think the main reason I gave it up was the lack of places to find them, at decent prices at least, over here. And probably that I discovered Doc Martens...:)

Your Christmas letters are so cute and creative! Your blog is so cute, I love reading it!

I think he was just jealous that He didn't come up with the idea himself! Come on.. I just got him to send a card with our picture on it that said Happy Holiday's! He's a little behind! =) Love you Sar!

I am TOTALLY your biggest blogger fan! Promise ♥ Love that you like Twitter now and FASCINATED by the fact that your brother is a professional poker player.

Oh good I guess this means you deleted that weird random anonymous bot? ;) Hahaha I laughed out loud when I saw that (apparently I'm still subscribed to the comments on this post.)

You and I should do a whole post or linkup made up in bot lingo, don't you think? Like my post could be a bunch of fluff, like how my nephews smeared poo all over their entire bedroom when they were 3 (twins) and then name it "Good post here. This info is very informational... Would love a follow back." :) Or something like that. (Good idea, no?)

Seriously though, you'd think spambots would come equipped with keyword recognition software or *something* that made their comments at least seem a little more relevant. Or even just written using correct grammar. ;D
