Nick and I went mountain biking yesterday.
Here's what I thought about it:
I haven't been mountain biking (or biking at all!) in Texas because somehow my helmet didn't make it during the move (moving elves, probably). Luckily, my sweet boyfriend brought me a present yesterday.
Coolest helmet ever, with a pinchguard!
Nick riding the trail while it was still flat (yes, I know he isn't wearing a helmet, no, I didn't think it was okay, yes, he was nagged).
He fell first. Not very hard, of course, but his bike tipped. No big.
I fell next. On a quick downslope, I was terrified of braking (Nick gave me a safety talk and mentioned how braking too hard can hurt you if it's in the wrong place) and so I was shakey; my front wheel hit a tree (not even kidding) and pushed me back. This caused my bike to fall down the slope to my left, and the right side of my body to get trapped under.
It's kind of funny, actually.
After the trail ride:
(Some cute kids came up to us as we were resting, and one of the older girls said, "Leave them alone, they're on their honeymoon!" which made us giggle.)
And my butt hurts like heck (I think I need a new bike seat). We had a blast though, and I'm looking forward to going again...once I can sit down without wincing.
How was your weekend?

Oh my god the faces you make when you are scared are HILARIOUS! Boo for getting hurt though - those are impressive as hell battle wounds though! I love the 'honeymoon' pic of you two though! I'm pretty sure I've told you a thousand times that I think you're an adorable couple, but I'll say it again: YOU TWO ARE SO FREAKIN' CUTE! And, what's Nick doing to his shoe there? Did he get something caught in there when he fell?
Love it. Also love the Man Cami.
Looks like soo much fun!! wish i had done that this weekend!
You are much more hardcore than me!
Also, your title made me start "singing" that. hehe Thanks for making me laugh :)
OUCH!! That's some nasty bruisin' there. Glad you're ok, AND that you had a good time! I would have been freaked to do that, but glad you did it!
My weekend was great because it was an extension of my week which was also awesome and I'm posting about it later!
Ouch! But way to go!! I've never done any hardcore biking...I'm too afraid of falling. ;)
My butt ALWAYS hurts after riding for the first time in awhile...even just riding around the block, not hardcore biking like you did!
I was going to talk about your bum just like Mere! That's me experience too...sore sore sore butt after riding when I haven't for awhile. Might not need a new seat actually! (maybe a new tailbone though;)
