Awesome buttermilk cupcake recipe here!
Happy Thursday, friends! Can you believe it's almost Friday?
You know the drill by now: write down a few things you've been thinking this week, and then link up below so that others can read what you've shared, too! Right click and save the photo above if you want to use one for the Thursday Thoughts link-up or make your own!

Nick got yet another medical school interview invitation! It's so exciting. This next one is in mid-February at Stanford (I know, right?!) and consists of 10 mini interviews each eight minutes long. During these, you read a scenario that is written on a paper posted outside a door, then when they tell you to start, you go into the room and tell the interviewer about how you would handle the situation. It sounds awesome.

Mere, one of the sweetest bloggers I know (also a native PNW-er, so I love her regardless) sent me a tweet today because she noticed I hadn't posted in a while. So sweet! Just to let the rest of you know, life has been awesomely busy, but I haven't forgetten about my blog friends!
{three}
I don't care who you are, if you have an exhaust pipe larger in circumference than my leg, you're a jerk. This is a blurry picture because we were at a stoplight and I was trying to stay far back, because anytime he accelerated, a huge black smoke cloud would erupt out from the top. Not only is it absolutely disgusting, it has to be completely distracting (and unsafe!) for anybody driving near him. Ugh!
(Yes, it's in his truck bed. It looks like a smoke stack, right?!)

It's Girl Scout Cookie time! I only bought one box for myself (they call them shortbread now, but when I was a Girl Scout, they were Trefoils) and a few boxes for Lisa in Norway, but chances are I'll buy at least two more before they stop selling them this year.
{five}
Speaking of Lisa in Norway, she asked for some ouchless black hairties since apparently they don't believe in painless ponytails abroad. While I was shopping for her, I found these. They're silicone-like, have no elastic, and are one of those products that will either work fantastically or fail miserably. I bought them to send to Lisa, but I may steal one before taping up the FedEx box!

Dissertation prospectus ideas make me want to barf. Every time I think I came up with something good, my professor tells me its either not easily doable, a poor idea, or just not going to work. Grad school sucks.

On February 1st, I'm linking up with Hollie and some girls for a Valentine's Day link-up. I'll be introducing a sponsored giveaway that is Valentine's Day related, so be sure to stop by next Wednesday!
Here's hoping that the end of your week goes swimmingly! Link up your Thursday Thoughts here:

I want those cupcakes still. Perhaps you'll share the recipe soon?? ;)
Um that car is ridiculous. Why are people so oblivious to things??
Trefoils are some of my favorites!! And Thin Mints will always be my #1...I already ordered a few boxes :)
YOU are too sweet!
Also, those hairties are my favorite in the whole world. I devoted an entire blog post to them once, and I have to stop myself from buying them compulsively because I'm scared they'll stop making them. Anyway, they do hurt a little bit to take out, but for me they are well worth the trade-off of only having to use one hairtie when I'm working out instead of four.
Is there a reason you didn't make those delicious cucakes for us when you were home?
Those cupcakes look DELICIOUS! And I'm so sorry that things have been busy for you! Hope everything (especially the dissertation!) calms down soon. Let me know if you need ANYTHING! Love you!

YAY NICK for another interview! Those interviews do sound really rad!!! :-)
I'm right there with you, Sar...people with big exhausts...what's the freakin point?!?!?!? It's ridiculous and unsafe to breathe!
I've missed you in the blog world! I've been a bit MIA as well! :-)
Congratulation to Nick, that's pretty awesome!
I saw those hair ties at Target the other day but after walking around with them for about 30 mins I left them because I didnt think they'd actually work that well. You'll have to let us know if they suck or not. You know, if you end up liberating one from the pack.
Great job Nick!
Oh and those kind of trucks=jerk for sure. People have huge trucks here too and I always want to be like WHYYYY you live at the beach?? Weirdos.
Also I played but had to make a different picture because cupcakes and no sugar do not mix haha :)
Can I get an amen to your exhaust pipe comment? I almost threw myself out of my car driving to work last week because an exhaust pipe, I mean car, sped past me and shook my steering wheel with the shear sound and ferocity of the exhaust pipe. No need - ever.
BTW, I started following some great, inspiring, blogs because of your blog hop, so thanks for that! You rock!
Happy seeing beautiful!
Cupcakes and wine.. YUM. That interview sounds intense!
I hate big honkin' trucks. G drives one but it's not like a "I own the road in this mother effin' thing" or "I'm making up for my lack of something by having this big something" kind of truck. So that's good, cause I Wouldn't be okay with that.
P.S.
I'm totally down for meeting up with you some time. I don't think I ever responded to that comment. I know you're super busy, so whenever you get some free time :) I'm never busy so I got a wide open schedule for ya!
I just found you, and your thursday thoughts! I am obsessed. I want to link up next week. Also now following for sure!!
xo
Classic & Bubbly
Congrats to him on another interview! That sounds like a pretty interesting one or sure!! That pipe is crazyyyyy. He's probably an arogant jerk too. Too judgemental? Sorry...
Oh my god, I didn't think it was possible for me to get any more excited for this package! I am so lucky! Holy crap!
Please send one of those cupcakes too. ;)
Btw, I have no idea what's the cheapest way to send stuff in the mail to me. I have a lot more experience sending the other direction!
Those cupcakes look amazing!!!!
Ok, those cupcakes looked so good that I went and bought the ingredients to make some. I've already eaten 1! So good!
P.S. I am pretty sure I've bought ouch less hair ties here somewhere I just can't find them anywhere!!
wine and cupcakes?! Two of my favorite things! And I'll have to try those hair ties, they look awesome.
LOL Sar who knew posting food pics would get such an overwhelming response? Guess I'll have to jump on the bandwagon and try them out! ;) You know, because otherwise, I wouldn't. What does being pregnant have to do with eating everything I see that looks delish? Nothing.
Congratulations yet again, you guys! WOW a kazillion times over. Seriously, STANFORD. Dude.
And your prof sounds like he/she is just doing one of those stupid things where they think they can somehow make this huge difference by pretending to be completely unimpressed by genius. So they keep sending poor you (the genius) away, thinking they're somehow doing you a favor by doing so, and giving you a "bigger challenge."
Can't say I've been there, as I'm not quuiiite the genius to whom I'm referring... but it seems like it happens a lot in the world. Hang in there. Maybe he/she is looking at your tenacity, as WELL as your unbelievably endless supply of incredibly great ideas for your thesis. :) (The nerve! You are NOT a science/social experiment.)
Tell him/her that your friend Eden, of Eden fame (tell them, YES, as in the Garden of?! Ever heard of it?) says to back off, yo, and give you the creative freedom your amazing brain deserves!!!
