Hey friends! Hope you had a great (and safe!) Fourth of July! I ended up going to a pool party at my friend Amy's apartment complex, then two different departmental BBQs. Overall, it turned out to be a lovely day! Today's prompt is brought to you by Paul (affectionately known as TPH in my text messages):
[Day 5]: If you could have dinner with any five people, who would they be?
This question could be interpreted in a few ways: currently living people, deceased people, fictional characters, celebrities, cartoons, and so forth. But I don't even have to think about who I would choose.
My mother's parents died before I was born, so I never got to meet them. I would love to sit down with them at dinner and get to hear stories about my mom (and aunts/uncles) when they were little, or just be able to hear them talk. That's something I've always wanted to do. While I'm at it, my dad's parents are also deceased, so it'd be blast to have dinner with them as well! The four grandparents sitting around a table filled with love sounds like the best dinner ever. I'd also probably want my dad, mom, and brother there, but that makes seven people invited which is kind of cheating (but I don't care; it's my blog and I'll cheat if I want to). My family is awesome.
What about you? What five people would you have dinner with?
New blogger friends: I've also noticed a ton of blogs with the captcha (those are the annoying word verification boxes) still turned on. Did you know that there are other options than to have that on? You could approve each of your comments so you don't get spammed, or you can turn off anonymous comments (that's what I do). My good friend Meghan from Shine On wrote a great blog about turning off your captcha here; check it out!

My Grandma used to tell me all the stories about my Dad when he was younger like the time he dropped my Uncle in the bath fully clothed. Uncle Jon is a bit of a joker so I think he was like "I bet you wouldn't do it" and so he did! My Dad picked him up and dropped him in the bath lol. I don't think my Grandma was too impressed but I think she saw the funny side so all was good (and it was kinda Jon's fault for starting it lol)
Then there's the time my Dad got Jon to paint his car - I think it was done with emulsion or something so it was really not the right paint for cars lol.
Of course you can cheat ;) And I wish I had thought of that...my dad's dad died when he was little, too.
Thanks again for hosting such a great link up, Sarah!
This was an easy post. Took no time to write up.
I love that you added 3 more not cheating by any means, The more the merrier. Family is awesome and that would be so cool to have all four of them at the same table.
I love that you cheated! Good choices. So sweet and really show your kind heart. Now I feel like a heel for my picks. Ha!
Yay for families!
I love spending family time and catching up...isn't it incredible how someone's life can impact us so much! :)
BEAUTIFUL list of people!
Love it! I would also love to meet my mother's father. I hear wonderful stories about him & wish I could have met him!
Your list is very like mine- family. I would rather have dinner with my family than pretty much anybody else any day. :)
I think your choices are very sweet!
That's so sweet. I never got to meet my mother's mom either, and now I only have one grandfather left on my mother's side. Everyone else passed on. Your family is always with you though, whether you see them or not ♥
Great choices! Nothing beats a good meal with family :) And thanks for the tips for new bloggers, too!
Great list, lady! I love that it's so family-focused. Makes me smile! :)
First off, so sweet! I didn't think about my grandmother who I was never given a chance to meet due to MS. Then again, I'm not extremely close to those here so possibly why I didn't think of her.
Second, THANK YOU for putting that blip about captcha at the end! I loathe those stinkin' boxes and had no idea blogger had turned mine on. BOO! I'm unsure if captcha was still working considering I use Disqus to monitor my comments, but I fixed it anyway, so hopefully no more problems with that period :)
Looks like you and I were on the same page. Would love to have that dinner party!
Yeah, I could not choose just five people either! So I cheated by skipping and writing something completely different! :P Five people is not nearly enough...30 people might be a little closer for everyone I wish I could have dinner with again!
I think we are truly kindred spirits missy. Your blog always gives me so much life. And I agree, it's your blog and your challenge...cheat if you want! :)
I love that your family is so awesome and that your mama is a blogger. I can't imagine what family gatherings are like! Mine is just a little family!
Hmm. Tough question. I think at least one of people I'd love to have dinner with is Ellen Degeneres. I think she'd be so fun to hang out with. And Robert Pattinson, because well, um, just because he's gorgeous, you know. (But, Jeff, if you happen to read this, I love you more, honey. Don't worry. ;) And definitely J.K. Rowling! Would love to chat with her!
Love love love family all around the same table! I agree and add them to my dinner table as well :)
I definitely have some family who have passed on my list. I love hearing family stories!
