15 Day Challenge: Day 6

Y'all are totally awesome. Seriously, I love reading all your answers to the prompts. Yesterday, you guys were so creative with your answer to who you would want to have dinner with! Today's prompt brought to you by TPH again is:

[Day 6]: What's something you've always wanted to do but haven't? Why not?

Well, I feel like I have to preface this with the fact that once Christopher passed, I told myself that I would never have a missed opportunity again. I wanted to live life for him since he couldn't experience it, and I have always tried to embody this.

The weekend after I returned back to Texas after his funeral, I went skydiving in Chris's honor.

Proudly showing off my Christopher tattoo prior to jumping out of the plane:

Coming down from 11,000 feet.

Me and my tandem jumper Gary after landing (forgive the pants that are clearly 2 sizes too large for me).

I guess this blog post is to say that I don't really have anything I've "always wanted to do, but haven't"...because I'm very aware that I could pass at any moment. I mean, sure, I want to get married and have children, or finish my PhD (that's coming!), but you can't rush those. In the meantime, I'll be living life for those who are no longer here, ensuring I make the most of my life!

So what's something you've always wanted to do but haven't? Why haven't you done it?

(Also, make sure you read the note on captchas over at Meghan's blog if you're a new blogger!)

Ooooh... skydiving is on my list! Although my problem is that I now have two small kids and anytime I think of going I decide not to because there IS a bit of risk involved and I feel the responsibility to my kids to stay alive haha. I'll be the 75 year old skydiving some day. :) I have bungee jumped and looooved it though. Someday.

Wow it's awesome that you did that! Mine is bungee jumping because I feel somewhat safe attached to a cord. Skydiving totally freaks me out, but I'm sure it would be an amazing experience!

Such truth and beauty behind those words!

What an awesome way to remember your friend and to check something off your bucket list! I don't think I could ever skydive...way too terribly afraid of heights!

I love your philosophy. I'm sorry for the loss of Christopher but it is wonderful that you are living a full life in his honor (and for your own self). xoxo

Yes, it is a good thing you didn't tell me before you jumped. But I'm so glad that you did! You have never been afraid taking risks. I think that is a wonderful quality to have and I admire you for that (among other reasons).

eeek I could never do that!

Good philosophy and it also means Chris' memory will live on throughout your life, because he changed your outlook.
An editorial comment on the 5 people dinner: Many included their parents & grandparents who have passed on -- I hope everyone takes this genuinely to heart and those who are still lucky enough to have living parents and grandparents remembers to cherish them and include them in their own children's lives.

I so want to go skydiving! But I'm a little terrified. Your post really makes me want to go, though. :) You're so inspirational!

Oh fun! My husband really wants to go skydiving and I would proudly be there with him ready to do it, even though I am deathly afraid of heights. I mean shaking in my tight, riding boots scared! BUT I also have a pact with myself to work to get over that fear by doing those things I'm afraid of (somehow this doesn't work with my fear of the dark. HA!). Fun fun!

You are such an inspiration. There are so many things I want to do or think I'd like to do but fear gets in my way or I just "never get to it". That's definitely no way to live. Thank you for motivating me to go out and do it!

Skydiving is next on my list!! I went bungee jumping and loved it. :D I try to do the same as you and live with no regrets. I am always up for trying new things.
