15 Day Challenge: Day 8

Happy Sunday, friends!

Hope you're getting to enjoy some Starbucks Sunday action (I'll be enjoying my Starbucks in honor of Alyssa who is running The Color Run today)! Today's prompt (we're more than halfway through this challenge, guys!) is brought to you by a random blogger who I don't remember. On her About Me was the good, bad, and ugly of herself. I thought it was a cute idea, so I decided to borrow it. I'm a poor writer apparently because I can't cite my sources, so we're just going to have to settle with: the idea is not mine

Please note: This exercise is to celebrate ourselves but still recognize our faults, not to be self-deprecating! You is kind, you is smart, you is important (The Help), so be nice to yourself! That being said:

[Day 8]: Describe the good, the bad, and the ugly about yourself.

[The Good]
-I have this uncanny ability to relate to almost anybody, whether it's a client at the local homeless shelter, another graduate student, or a teenager at my church, I feel like I'm pretty darn good at finding commonalities with others.
-I can find humor in almost any situation. It's a gift.
-I'm ridiculously optimistic and yet realistic to a fault, so I always expect the best but plan for the worst.

[The Bad]
-I have no patience. Maybe that should be "The Ugly"...
-I have a lazy eyelid. It's ridiculous in photos (and yes, you're welcome for photographic evidence; usually these photos get deleted or hidden!):

[The Ugly]
-I get super offended when people lie to me, even if it's a small lie (e.g. "I have plans tonight" when really they mean, "I just don't feel like it tonight"). I just find it disrespectful, and I know that people usually don't mean it to be hurtful, it just is!
-I have been known to be so optimistic that people walk over me. It's a trait I've been trying to fix (I'm getting a lot better at saying no), but it's still innate for me.

That's a lot of Sar-information! Feel like you know me well now?! Can't wait to read some of your good/bad/uglies on this beautiful day! Link up here:

I have that weird eyelid, too! But you still look cute. I'm convinced I need an eyelift. I find humor in [most] anything, too.

I probably never would have noticed it if you never pointed out the eyelid. I have one that twitches... annoying!!

I usually find ways to relate to others as well! I think that's a wonderful trait for you to have. Especially having optimism and humor -- they are cures of any sadness

Optimism is a great quality- glad to hear that you ate getting better at saying no. That's important and something I need to work on too.

I too find it very easy to relate to almost anyone & I'm pretty optimistic. Also extremely impatient. Haha.

I don't like being lied to either. It's something that really gets to me. But, having a positive attitude is a great thing. Saying "no" is hard, and something I struggle with as well. Thanks for sharing.

I totally have the eye problem! At my wedding, my BFF was in charge of reminding me to have "big eyes!" :)

Agreed with Suze. Optimism is a great quality - most times I wish I had more of it.

Don't think I would have noticed the lazy eyelid if you hadn't pointed it out. I think you are pretty... lazy eyelid and all!

I'm having a hard time coming up with something to write for this prompt so may just skip today. We'll see. It just feels like and "about me" thing and I totally suck at those!

Can completely agree with all of your "Ugly" statements! Liars & users, seem to find me! Loving this link-up!

You get that lazy eye from your mama, but I think it's cute!

Umm...if I may say so without this sounding terrible: I think your lazy eyelid is adorable. And you still look stunning. Kind of adds some flare.
That's awesome you're able to find commonalities with others. Probably helps with your field of expertise :)

I have a lazy eyelid too! Embarrassing follow up - I didn't realize until half way through college that THAT was I didn't like a majority of pictures of me.

I too have the lazy eyelid. I can't stand it! Haha - I finally caught up on the last 3 days :)

You look cute, lazy eyelid and all :)

And I love your gift of humor and optimism. It is for sure one of the things that keeps me hanging around this corner of the interwebs with you. I need some optimism in my life! :)

I would have never noticed your eye either! And I am super impatient as well...I feel your pain. I try to be more patient and it just doesn't work.

With all these lazy eyelids and my double chin - we are one helluva blog group! Haha.
I am way too optimistic/realistic as well. I love to think that everyone is at their best but completely understand that sometimes the worst is all we're lucky to see.

Our "goods" are very similar! I also have no patience. I would have never noticed your eyelid either!

I would have never noticed the "lazy eyelid" if you hadn't pointed it out. You are too funny!!

Well, lazy eyelid or not, you're still so beautiful!

I lave a lazy eye too!
I am also impatient. :)
I loved your list, and i think this was such a great prompt to make us stop, evaluate, and re-focus. :)
