Hey friends! Hope your weekend has been full of fun, relaxation, and as little work as possible! I was too busy being productive taking naps and getting some pool time to blog this weekend, so here's a recap:
[1]
On Saturday, baby Quintin had his 1st birthday party. Lauren (his mom) always has the cutest themed parties, and this one was "All Tied Up." We all had paper bowties or neck ties, took silly photos with funny mustache props, and there was Pin the Mustache on the Baby (don't worry, no babies were harmed in the process).
Megan and her awesome mustache straw.
[2]
The Carlisles are Mormons, which means at the aforementioned party, there were a ton of babies/children/screaming...and it was a blast. My ovaries were aching just a little until one of the babies started screaming (I'm pretty sure it was out of delight, but it was shrill and terrifying nonetheless). The Carlisles have stained cement floors, so it was echoing all over the place. Glad I have friends who have/are having babies so I can live vicariously through them (and still have a quiet household!).

Saturday during the evening/all night, I went over to my friend Lara's house (aptly titled PaZoo, which stands for the Parrott Avenue Zoo, since they have a ton of animals). They had their second annual PaZoo Palooza, which involved two musical acts (I missed the first one, but the second is pictured below), late night karaoke, a keg full of Shiner, and plenty of friends.
Here's Monique and Kaley, The Ravens.
[4]
The karaoke was probably my favorite, as there was a huge mix of talent and genres, plus my friend Cameron did the most hilarious version of the Beatles' "Revolution," then kept encouraging us to vote. Which is hilarious, 'cuz when I'm drunk, I totally tell my friends to vote, don't you?
(Bad photo quality; cell phone flash!)
[5]
Sunday was the Baylor/SMU football game. I didn't go (thousands of people crowded in a stadium in 100+ degree heat), but I watched it at the pub with my friend Sarah as we did some grading for our classes (she teaches high school English). Sic 'em, Bears!
[6]
Monday morning, I went running, got ready, and then headed over to the Brown family's pool to enjoy the last day of summer. It pretty much looked like this all day:
[7]
I left the Browns around 4pm to head over to a party that the PsyDs were throwing. It was at an apartment pool, so we all just kind of stood in the pool, chatting about life. Right as we were about to leave, I was walking around the edge of the pool where it was lined with polished brick (because the cement was hot!) and somehow completely biffed it. Like, I fell into the pool y'all. It wasn't pretty and it hurt a lot (my groin is stretched a little more than I'd like), but mostly, it was just my ego that took a hit. And my toenail polish.
[8]
My bestie Liz and I were chatting about boys yesterday and she sent this gem of a text.
To my defense, the "other boy who like[s me]" is "Ryan" the law student who cooked for me, who is in Indiana. We call this full disclosure.
[9]
Last week, I had two friends bring me baked goods on Friday. Two. If only every day could be that sweet...
(Thanks Jaclyn and Jasmyn!)

I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've actually gotten to 10 for "10 on Tuesday." I'm kind of proud. ;)
Happy Tuesday friends! Go link up with Lin!

oh my gosh i'm so glad you're ok. I HATE/LOVE falling in front of other people. While it is seriously hilarious a few days later...in the moment it is like the whole world just witnessed. :(
OOO so hold up, are you and Ryan still chatting?!?!?!?!
With a great name like PaZoo Palooza, how can you NOT have a party every year! Hope your nasty injuries heal quickly, and your bruised ego much sooner. Love ya!
That "Tied Up" party seems like it was super fun kiddy party - and absolutely adorable! PaZoo made me giggle C:
Glad you had a good Labor Day weekend! (you know... minus the falling part :p)
I hope you know that I fully expect you to visit us and your nephew when you are home in December. Then when he starts crying/screaming you are free to return to the quiet of your parent's house ;)
You have TOO much fun, it's decided ;) Cute kids party, I hope I'm that creative once it comes time for me to host one, lol! But like you, I'm enjoying my quiet household still :)
Glad are you okay from the pool incident! Coulda' been a lot worse!
[1] Such a great idea for a party! I'm putting it down as a potential for future Lillie...
[3]I considered tweeting you Sat night to ask if you wanted to jump on some good ol' redneck fun and go Dove hunting but then I saw hat PaZoo Palooza and I was like "Damn, that looks way more awesome" so I didn't.
[7] OUCH! I'm glad you're okay [mostly!] At the very least you could have played it off as a really cool new dance move that nobody else knows about...
Your weekends are always so amazing. I am so jealous of all of it - you live such a beautiful life, lady!
I think your legs are as white as mine! Ha! Still can't believe you fell. So glad you are ok. Sounds like a great weekend to me. Hope your class is going well. Grading papers cracked me up! Sounds so official.
