It's pretty common for people to do resolutions for the new upcoming year, but this year, I want to issue a challenge (a mantra, if you will, a la Joelle):
Often, we feel like we have to compare ourselves to others, gauging where we are in life to someone else's standards, thinking we're ugly/overweight/not as accomplished/boring when we look at others' lives in comparison to our own. This year, for 2013, I challenge you to be.
Just be.
Embrace yourself: your idiosyncrisies, your football-shaped birthmark on your right thigh, your stretch marks, your overuse of the word "bizarre," your ability to sing all the words to every Pitch Perfect song, your accomplishments, your soul. Know that you're worthy of the world, and just be.
Happy 2013, friends. Here's hoping for a year full of love, joy, and being.

Happy New Year love.
I hope to 'be' me and a better wife, daughter, blogger, sister and friend this year.
What a fabulous post. Thank you for it. <3
Happy New Year!
I've been embracing my ability to sing all the words to every Pitch Perfect song already this morning! :) Happy New Year!

This is a HUGE challenge, but I'll give it a shot. What a great concept...to be comfortable and confident in who and what I am with no excuses. It's about time, huh?
Love this!
Such a great message! :) Reminds me of Aladdin when Genie says "Just beeeee yourself!" ;)

You are so right!
Love that so much! (and you too, duh) One of my goals this year is to spend more time doing things for myself/enjoying the things I like without feeling guilty for taking time for me. Love the idea of embracing everything that makes us unique :)
You **be** pretty good at this motivational stuff. Thanks for this. It's a super swell reminder.
This is EXACTLY what I need to do in 2013. Thanks for the challenge!
Great challenge, friend :)
Sar, you are so awesome. Seriously, I felt like I did this last year and I am so much happier and am way excited to do the same in 2013!
Yes! I've been striving to do this in the last few years, and each year, feel more and more accomplished in it. I know it's a lifelong journey, but I'm happy that it's one that I've been able to acknowledge earlier in my life rather than later.
You, my wonderful friend, are certainly more than worthy of the world!
Bam. I'm doing this.
Love this so much :)
Loved seeing this as your "to do" on your board. :) You are awesome, Sar!
